Misc. Notes
HOLLINGUM, Walter Richard , Gravesend, Vol 2a, page 431 Birth registered Mar 1870
According to the 1881 Census of England one of Ann’s sons was James Honey. James and Walter were listed as Hollingum Bros Delicatessen. Ann and James are listed as the parents of James Honey in the LDS IGI transcription of Church records. In the 1881 Census of England Ann is a widow all (?) of her children, except Walter Richard, are listed as living with her. Walter R. Hollingum is listed in the 1881 Census, age 10 years old, as an inmate of the “Merchant Seaman’s Orphan Assylum.” in the city of Wanstead, Essex, UK. Vocation listed as scholar. He was indeed born Gravesend, Kent, England.
I don’t know when or if Walter and Florence arrived in San Francisco together or when they separated and we’ll probably never know where he was during the 1910 Census.
Walter signed a Declaration of Intention to become a citizen:

Walter died in San Francisco but his residence was in Burlingame. I observed that bit of information on the cemetery records at Woodlawn Memorial Park. When I received his death certificate it said he lived in SF. Maybe Aurora couldn’t be bothered explaining to the Funeral people why they lived in different locations. Who knows or cares they are buried together.
