Hollingum age 12, listed as her Niece and a scholar is living with her as well.51 Her son Walter Richard is listed in an orphanage in Essex. You can’t help wondering why only this child is in the Merchant Marines orphanage. Perhaps he would be given training there or maybe he was just a “hand-full“ as a child and she couldn’t cope.
