The Thompson Book:
Elizabeth Olivia Ellis . . . married George Venable Thompson on the 20th of December 1853; she died September 21st, 1890. Her husband sprang from the best blood in Trigg County, where he was born the 24th of August, 1832. He died in Hopkinsville, February 1st, 1892. The major part of his married life he was engaged as a tobacco broker and dealer on his own hook. Mrs. Thompson was an unusually handsome woman and, better, still, an unusually good woman; noted in her circle for her beauty, her refinement and her solid piety.
