Sarah has been referred to as Sarah Ann Hawkenbury in many files. I’ve decided to stop calling her that until I find some documentation. That will help me remember to look for likely Sarahs and put a bit more emphasis on finding documentation for her surname and family.

The marriage between Sarah Hawkenbury and Jacob on 10 May 1821 is pretty unlikely to me. I found that marriage record refered to Woolam, Jacob - Anne Hawkenbury 10 May 1821, Book 1 - page 5, Married by Arron Morgan. Another spelling but not our Jacob. I believe it refers to Jacob Ullom and Margaret Anna Hockenberry in this file.

Is Sarah also the daughther of James? Hawkenbury & reference Hawkenberry, in Tyler, (W) VA. This may be for Margaret Anna but I believe her parents are established. Born in 1802 in , , PA., birth based on her census records and Death Certificate.

NOT OURS:
I believe this is John C. and Sarah McCartney STEWART. After the Civil War John remarried a Mary C Nida. They are not Ollum related.

In 1880 she is listed as Ollum again. Perhaps to make clear her relationship to Isaac who is living with her or she with him.

The 1880 Census indicates Sarah and both of her parents were born in Pennsylvania. Sarah would have been 19 and Jacob about 60 at the time of their marriage if the other related dates are correct. Sarah’s birthdate was previously listed in several Gedcoms as abt 1790.

Sarah’s death record, from Lawrence Co., OH, lists her as Ollom and gives her birthplace as Pennsylvania, and her death information: 20 Dec 1881 in Proctorville, Lawrence Co., OH

Mother of I. W. Ollum, of Proctorville, died on the 20th, inst., and was buried at Rome Cemetery. She was in her 80th year.
