Benjamin [B] Ollom enlisted in Ohio on 23 August 1864 with the rank of Corpl at the age of 43. He served in the Union Army, F Co. 174th Infantry Regiment for the State of Ohio.
His nephew, Robert, son of William “Jackson”, had joined up Aug 16th and they served in the same regiment.

His widow Mary Ollom filed for a pension 1889 Aug 27,
