On the back of his page (opposite his son Johann Georg, who was born in 1805) in the family book is written the following:)
On the 9th of July 1808, in the morning, the house, the barn, the shop and lots of trees.
Since the Grandmother was alone with the children in the house, that fire went so fast the in 1 hour everything was a pile of ash. Only a little bit of bedding, sheets, dresses/clothes and the animals which were in the meadow was all that was left.
