--- snip --- it initially appears that the William H Williams is probably a full brother to our James M Williams. It seems that his birthdate was incorrect on the original muster rolls, and that he was born in very late 1836 - which would fit in very nicely with James Williams marrying Jane Price in February 1836.
He also lived briefly in Latham - before our James, from what I can tell, and in Jersey before moving to Holdredge, Phelps County, Nebraska. He also lived briefly in Friend, Arapahoe County, Colorado (maybe Denver?). His wife was indeed Mary I Fuller - whom I am guessing
was a cousin to Ezekiel Fuller - who married Catherine Hampton.
Researcher found William H. Williams and wife Isabelle living in Holdrege with granddaughter Ula Florence White.
It looks like William was injured in a train wreck during the war (there is an account of it on the web; (Co H 97 IL Inf), and had ill health all of his life, finishing up with diabetes, heart disease, stroke, chronic diarrhea, piles, severe eye problems, and a type of early onset senile dementia --- snip ----
