Misc. Notes
Richtner, Richurs, Ruechner, Righner, Richster
There is a Samuel Richer in Jerseyville, just another possible spelling.
---
Frederick Richner died testate. The administrator for his estate was Fred Dittus as requested by Christine in the Logan County Court on Aug 3rd 1971, page 183 of the court record.
---
Believe he owned 80 Acres in: Section 02 Township 18N Range 01W, original owner THOMPSON DANIEL, RR SECT 02 18N 01W 3 659.25 10.00 6592.50 MALE 02/22/1864 UNKNOWN , 791 173. From the description the section is slightly larger than normal and the later maps prove this out. Christine was listed on the local property maps and later, after her death, Frederick's son Henry A. lived there. The initial purchase, of this land, wasn't made until 1864. Frederick and Christina were married in November of 1864.
Richners in section 6 had a Williams family living next to them for decades. I have not found any relationship between the two families.
---
He's listed in the History of Logan county - Laenna Township, published in 1878, not much information just his mispelled name and location of farm: He was already deceased and instead of being removed from the listing, his widow, Christine is added just below him.
Richtner Fred, farmer, Sec. 2; P.O. Chestnut; from Germany
Richtner C. Mrs, Sec. 2; P.O. Chestnut; from Germany
Listed in the same township but without a designated Section number. He is listed as living in "Latham": Williams, William H. laborer, Latham; rep; Meth [Methodist]; from Ohio.
Our W.H. Williams would have been about 13 years old and was still living with his parents in Macon County during the Census of 1880, 2 years later.
