The 1900 census indicates Christine had given birth to 8 children and 6 were still living. Charles was not her child, William Richner died in 1898. There is one more child that belongs with this family.

Christina's Will dated 11th day October A. D. 1901:

Last Will and Testament
of
Christina Richner
I the undersigned Christina Richner, residing near the vilage of Chestnut, in the Couny of Logan, in the State of Illinois, being of sound mind and ? memory do hereby make, ordain and publish this to be my last will and testament.
First:- I order and direct my Executor, herein after named, to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses, as soon after my decease as convenient may be.
Second:- I ? and bequeth unto my step-son Charles Richner, now residing near Latham, Logan County, Illinois, the sum of Twelve Hundred Dollars. ($1200) to be ? to him within one year after my decease, without interest, and to be his full share and fraction of my estate, incase of his death to go to his heirs.
Third:- The rest and residue of my estate, be the same real estate or personal property, remaining after the payment of the debts, funeral expenses and said lagacy of twelve hundred dollars, I give, bequeath and devise unto my children Frederick Loetterle, Michael Loetterle, Magadelena, now wife of Wilhelm Pabst; and Henry A. Richner to them and their heirs forever in equal parts, share and share alike the child or children of any deceased child of mine to take the parent's share.
Lastly:-I hereby nominate and appoint my son, Henry A. Richner to be executor of this my Last Will and Testament and I desire that the county court appoint him to act act as such requiring him to give only his personal bond.
In Witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 11th day of October A. D. 1901

The foregoing instrument, consisting of two typewritten pages and containing 4 sections, was declared by testator Christina Richner, to be her Last Will and Testament, and was signed by her in our presence, who at her request have signed our name here to as witnesses, in her presence and in the presence of each other this 11th day of October A. As a pure guess: I believe she would left something to the heirs of her deceased children if there were any. According to the 1880 Census, William and Adam appear to have pre-deceased her.

Magdalena Richner Bapst was born at Chestnut Ill.
Her mother was Christine Richner. Christina Richner was first married to a Littlery & had 2 sons Fred and Michal. After his death she married Richner who had one son by his former marriage Charlie Richner. After her marriage to Richner she had 3 children Henry, William, who died at age 21? & Magdalena. Her [daughter Magdalena] parents came from Germany. They homesteaded at Chestnut Ill. Her mother Christina Richner lived her last years at our Home dying in 1906.

His Father died I know not when. I can remember his mother she lived to in her 90's. She lived with daughter Lena Corry at Chillicotthe Ohio. Her name was Elizabeth Brust. Bothe his father and mother came from Germany. His name was Pabst Ch??? says he had it changed when came to Ill Legaly if he did it would be in Lincoln (Logan Co) Illinois. He was handy at most anything & a good cook. As partner in Store had a lot of thing first . As first Furnace in Basement first gasoline lite [light] one two had[to have] private telephone Papst & Goberman homs & store. He was good farmer but poor with livestock. Hard on horses. He never owned a car but sold some while in store. He was a Republican untillhis later life when he voted the Prohibitionist ticket. Was very much against liquor. Never smoked. In younger years wore mustache. Was about my build. Quite bald. He had respect of entire community even those that didn't agree with him.
