I think the "Sen" means Senior but I have seen him listed with the abbreviation "Sen" and as "Senator".

son James W.'s biography:
James W. Gasaway, Retired farmer, was born July 29, 1818, in Ross Co., OH He is a son of John Gasaway, farmer and native of Frederick County, Va., who married Catherine Anderson of the same county. They settled in 1810 on the Scioto bottoms in Ross County among the pioneers. Nine children were born to them.
