She appears to be listed as Mathilda in the Gassaway book by the Rutherfords and that may be based on the 1880 Census.

MARTHA JANE FOSTER GASAWAY, FORMER HARRISTOWN WOMAN DIES IN PEORIA

Mrs. Martha J. Gasaway, 93, a resident of Harristown for 40 years until she moved to Peoria 18 years ago, died Thursday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frances Rhodes, Peoria.
Born in Kentucky, Mrs. Gasaway came to Illinois at the age of 10. She was married to Thomas Gasaway in 1874. He died 27 years ago.
Besides her daughter, she leaves two sons, Lewis Gasaway of Decatur and Amos Gasaway of Peoria; and four stepchildren, Andrew and Dallas Gasaway and Lyde Howe, all of Decatur and Abner Gasaway, Chicago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Harristown Christian Church. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery.
