Wullum, Samuel or Shem Ullum or Ulm, VA line, Hannah, W4841, sol lived in Berkeley Co VA when he enl, he appl 6 Aug 1832 in Clermont Co OH aged 70 & sol d there 1 Sep 1834, sol had m Hannah (--) 4 Sep 1782 or in Dec 1781 at Hagerstown MD & she was b 5 Oct 1760 & when she and sol was married she was living some 16 miles from Hagerstown MD with 1 of her bros & sol was living some 21 miles from Hagerstown MD at that time & after their marriage they lived near Hagerstown MD for 4 yrs then moved across the Potomac River about 1/4 to 1/2 mile inside VA & lived there for 1 yr then returned to MD & lived in Blair Valley in MD and later moved to Muddy Creek in PA for 9 or 10 years then moved to the OH river in Clermont Co OH & sol’s wid appl there 20 Mar 1841 as Hannan Ulm & she was there in 1843, sol’s & wid’s children were; Sarah b 4 Sep 1783 & she m George Botts & she was living in 1841, Polly who d many yrs prior to 1841, Isabel who d very young, Samuel who wa killed near Vincennes “IL ?” in 1821, Peter who was living in IL in 1841, William who d about 5 miles from Bayou Sarah on the MS River about 1821 to 1823, Joseph who was living 3 miles from Shawneetown IL in 1841, Catharine b 24 Jun 1805 & she m Isaac Starks & in 1841 lived in Clermont Co OH & Henry b 29 Mar 1808 & in 1841 was living near New Orleans LA

WULLEM, SAMUEL, Clermont co
Pvt Va Trps. Enlisted Dec 1779 in the Western Battl commanded by Col Joseph Crockett and was discharged at falls of O 12-18-1781. Srvd 2 yrs. Married Hannah 9-4-1782. Soldier died 9-1-1834 Clermont Co., Ohio. Was residing at Martinsburgh Barkley [Berkeley] Co., VA at time of enlistment. Widow applied for pension Clermont Co. 7-4-1836. Ref Va W 4841. Rept by State D A R.

Shem was living in the Tenmile Country in 1790.
He was in Captain William Crawford’s Company in 1793. Captain William Crawford’s company, organized for the defense of Washington County, now Green County, PA, in the years of 1793 and 1794 against the Indians in the Indian Wars.

Shem Wollum,1806, bought from John Flack, land on N Fork,Indian Creek,where Ohio RT 222 CROSSES IT, Washington Twnsp, Clermont Co, sw Oh. Interesed in Pitzer also. Mr Pitzer,my neighbor,died 3-4 years ago.
