I haven’t figured out the reason yet but:
Harriet appears to have gone to Slate, Woods Co., West Virginia to have her babies. She or Adam would report the birth to the local authorities, in Meigs County, when they returned home to Clarington. So.. all or most of the births for Harriet’s children are recorded in the Meigs county books.
