Misc. Notes
Family Book page, Affalterbach 192 and/or 397. This family book has been renumbered at some time in the past.
He was a farmer at Weiler and a member of the court. The juries were permanently assigned not temporary positions as they are in the American judicial system. We can’t be sure he was a juror but it seems the most reasonable assumption without further evidence.
He was called “Old” Johann Georg Widmann as we might use the term or title “Senior.” When he named a child Johann Georg, he was then called “Old.” His son would be called “Old” if he named a son Johann Georg and after his father died. The generations didn’t become distinquished, one from the other, by adding the titles I, II, III, etc., as is sometimes used today.
His father was a farmer at Weiler, also.
Need to see other pages in the family book for spouses or death dates.
