Declaration made May 19 1835 In Ralls County, Missouri for pension. Abraham Billings a Revolutionary war soldier, age 83 - states he substituted in 178 [half of 8 faded out] 1780 [from next line & don't know why it's typed twice] for Joseph Tomlin in Pittsylvania County Virginia, for 3 months under Capt. Charles Burton, which tour I served out and was discharged by him - we went from Pittsylvania county to Cane Bridge- served out first tour under Col William- my father after my first tour was over, removed to North Carolina on the Tarrarat? River, cannot remember the name of the county. also served under Capt McCree as a volunteer for 3 months- and after he was discharged from his 2nd tour returned to his Uncle Thomas Billingses in Pittsylvania County Virginia and volunteered for a tour of w monthss under Capt Edmison and rendezvoued at Peter Williams on Sandy river- again entered and rendezvd at house of Charles Burton in Pittsylvania County- the last tour he served in N.C. was under Col Pirkins. States he was born in Pittsylvania Co, Va 1754- wa livin where he was born when called into service part of the time- I lived in N.C. and now live in Ralls Co. Missouri. I substituted for Joseph Lamlin, or Joseph Tomlin first tour--

In the name of God Amen" I Abraham Billings Sen" now a resident of Pike County and the State of Illinois viewing the uncertainty of life and certainty of death, and being low in health but perfectly sound in mind and judgdment do make and constitute this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others and first I will that my body be decently buried in a christian like manner and that my Soul enjoy the presence of my Heavenly Father, and as to such wordly estate as it has pleased God to entrust me with I dispose of the same as follows,

First I direct that that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible out of the first moneys that shall come into the hanes of my executors. I also do direct that my property whether personal or real estate if any remain at my decease be sold and with the remaining balance of all my moneys debts and dues and demands be equally divided as soon as it can be done share and share alike amongst my several children who may survive me and if any decease before me then their heirs shall receive such share as their respective ancesters would be entitled to receive if then living, and I do hereby make and ordain my sons John Billings and George Billings Executors of this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I Abraham Billings Sen. the Testator have to this my will written on two pieces of paper fastened together set my hand this twenty sixth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine.
