The book “Make Tracks to Latham” by Mary Ann Gasaway and Radtke Sue Cundall, on page 142, says:
Sophia (Daughter of James and Martha Gasaway)
Sophia (1852-1917) was born in Springfield when Abraham Lincoln lived there. She married Jacob Shyer (1842-1918) in 1868. They were the parents of William (1870-1942), John (1870-1928), Stella (1876-1937), Dorothea ((1887-1949) and Allen (1888-1944).
