My mother was a Colwell, family from Stark Co., & Peoria Co., IL. 1860 census of Stark Co.IL.

This would be about the right age for your William. There is another William, wife Amelia age 24 in
1860. Martha Jane was probably married by this time. Do you have a husbands name for her ?
William is not in my line but I could look up info for you next time I visit the library. I am decended
from the Colwell line that Bundy Colwell gathered. I have not studied the Colwell line yet but my
cousin and I are working on it. The Colwells came from Ross Co. OH in the early 1800's. They came
from VA to KY to OH to IL. There are alot of Colwell's in Stark and Peoria Co's. One Henry Colwell
had 19 children. All of the Colwell's had big families. Hope this helps let me know if I can help more.
