4. Anne Gassawy married John Watkins in 1688 and was widowed in her twenties. She then married William Burgess. She was again widowed and married Richard Jones.
Children of Anne Gassaway and Richard Jones:
Anne Jones: It was believed by researchers that Anne Jones, daughter of Richard Jones and Anne Gassaway became the wife of William Hitchcock II. This is probably not true. Robert Hedgecock, the primier Hitchcock researcher has concluded that time frames make it impossible for Richard Jones and Anne Gassaway to have been the parents of the Anne Jones who married William Hitchcock. He believes it is possible she was the daughter of William Jones of Calvert County.
