PHusler@PacBell.netHi Penny;
Sorry for taking so long in getting back to you, but had to locate a book I have
which concerns Marinda Ullom. I finally found one of the two volumes of the book,
(thank goodness it was the one I needed).
The books are titled "Hennen's Choice" by Dorothy T. Hennen. She was ill when I
talked to her on the phone several years ago and I ordered the books from her. I
come off the line of Matthew Hennen, the immigrant, from Ireland. His daughter,
Rachel Hennen married Robert Butcher and their son, William Jackson Butcher
married Marinda Ullom on 17 June, 1841.
Also noticed that another son of Robert Butcher and Rachel Hennen married an Ullom. It says that Thomas Butcher married Esther Ullom.
Next please note that it is Marinda Ullom and not Miranda Ullom. At least all documents and info spell it that way.
Okay, here goes:
William Jackson Butcher married Marinda Ullom on 17 June, 1841 in West Virginia (possibly West Warren [now Wadestown] West Virginia. Haven't found proof of
the place yet. They had two children before he died. They were David White Butcher b. 1847 near Mannington, Va. (now West Vir.) and Nancy Jane b. 11 July 1846 near Mannington, Va.
Nancy Jane married a James Kidwell Ice and had 13 children.
David White Butcher (my line) married a Mary Ella Kay, daughter of John Kay and Mary Jane Robinson on 10 January 1872 in Champaign County, Illinois.
They had 2 children, which were:
George Butcher (who never married)
Marinda Jane (Minnie) Butcher b. 26 Sept. 1872 in Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois and died on 13 December 1928 in Gipsy, Bollinger County, Missouri.
Marinda Jane (Minnie) Butcher married George Baxter Farrar on 27 September 1891 in Madison, Greenwood County, Kansas and had 3 children:
1. Ernest B. Farrar
2. Roy Dumont Farrar b. 21 Nov. 1894 in Chanute Kansas; married Opal Looney
- child cut here for privacy -
3. Juanita Farrar who married Earl Libla
I hope this helps you somewhat. If you have anymore questions, let me know and I'll see if I can answer them. As for the account book of William Jackson Butcher, I
have not been able to locate it or the reason he died.
