Misc. Notes
From “History of John and Rachael Tannehill and their Descendants” by Letitia Tannehill Coe 1903
Nancy Tannehill was born January 30, 1761. She was married to Thomas Coulter in Butler county, Penn., about the year 1788 or 1789. Her children were:
John, who married Elizabeth Rice. 2. Thomas who married Julia Mowers. 3, David who married Beckie Martin. 4, Melzar, who married first – Adset; 2nd, Abigail Crawford. 5, Rachel, who married James Noone. 6. Abigail, who married Harvey Hill. 7, Nancy who married Isaac Martin.
They with their family, in company with my grandfather and his family left Butler county, Pennsylvania in 1805 and located near Steubenville, Jefferson county, in Ohio. In 1811 they came to Richland, new Ashland County Ohio and located on a farm beside my grandfathers. The family has scattered, but some of the descendants of John and his wife Elizabeth still live at Perrysville. They were, and are, very excellent people. Great Aunt Nancy died July 30, 1825 and with her husband lies in the beautiful little cemetery at Perrysville, her husband died in 1845. He was Prominent in the
Presbyterian Church, to which he donated land for a building, and was a very public spirited man.
