Malcolm Tannehill was born about 1768-9. He married Mary Douglas. They had three daughters:
1. Rachel who married John Wigton
2. Eleanor married James Bigton
3. Nancy who died in girlhood
I think the family still lives in Butler county, Pa.

A "Malcham" Tannehill is listed in Montgomery Co MD Revolutionary Patriots as being a private in 5th Co., Lower Bn., 1780. A "Malkim Townehil" was a member of the Washington Co PA militia, 5th Co., 5th Batt., from 1781-1783. If as seems likely this is the same Malcolm as the son of John and Rachel, his date of birth must be earlier, probably 1764 at the latest.
