JOHN BROME4, Colonel, b. 1703; d. 1749; was written as John Brome, Jr., in 1736; in 1723, when but twenty years old, was appointed trustee and visitor of schools, and empowered to have buildings erected and to draft laws for the goveming of schools in Calvert County; in 1725 was High Sheriff for the County; in 1740 was Land Commissioner; m. Anne GANTT, b. 1708, dau. and eldest child of Thomas2 and Priscilla (BROOKE) GANTT.
