ELLIS, ARTHUR, came to N. E. in 1630. Hon. Caleb Ellis, H. C. 1793, of Claremont, N. H., was of this family. (see Allis)
ALLIS, WILLIAM, a deacon of the church in Braintree, was admitted freeman 1640, and d. 12 Oct. 1653. His sons were, John, b. 5 March, 1642; Samuel b. 24 Feb. 1647; Josiah, b. 20 Oct. 1651; William b. 10 Jan. 165-. Rev. Samuel Allis, H. C. 1724, of Somerset, Conn. was probably of this family.

Edward Stacy (Joseph229 Joseph151 Joseph87 Joseph47 Philip29 Joseph6 Philip1) was born in Ipswich, 22 Oct., 1802; married 25 Dec., 1827, MARY HARDISON, who was born in Berwick, Me., 21 Dec., 1800, the daughter of Joseph Hardison, and died 14 March, 1872.
He was a farmer, became deacon of the Congregational Church in Sangerville, Me. In 1844 was of Fort Fairfield, Me., where he organized, in his log house, a Congregational religious society composed of, at first, five members, himself, wife, cousin Henry Fowler, Caleb Ellis and a Mrs. Susan Ellis, and of which, he was deacon.

NOTE--Jabez Wood, a petitioner for the organization of the Parish in 1748,
married Hannah (Pratt), widow of Caleb Ellis. He d. May 3, 1752, leaving, it is
believed, no issue.
