Book: "Short, An Early Virginia Family"
Traces Susan’s roots back to Martha Short & Major Thomas Edmunds. Martha can be found in the “Short” surname section of our tree.
Susan’s Parents were John Thomas Edmunds and Mary Campbell Ky according to Susan’s Death Certificate. Her Death Certificate says she was born in Hopkinsville, but she is listed as being born in Virginia in other sources & Gedcoms but there is no coroborating documentation, so I just mention it here.
Her Children were:
Henry Johnson Stites 8/2/1889 Married Alice Beattie and had a daughter Susan Edmunds Stites (11/28/1934-4/22/1937, Death Certificate #11283
John T.Edmunds (for Thomas ?) Stites 2/15/1891
This family connection caused a good deal of confusion regarding our own Henry Johnson Stites.
