Misc. Notes
Otto was living with his brother James’s family at the time of his death.
Oral family tradition:
Otto owned a home on Faxon Ave., around the corner from his Father and Mother.
Otto was not attending school at the age of 16 according to the 1920 Census. Oral family history is that he dropped out to work in his father’s iron working shop.
Another family story is that Otto had a pet goat and on more that one occasion was sent home from school for bring his goat with him.
Otto worked for the Municipal Railway as a swithman. In those days, tracks where switched manually - a switchman had to jam a large iron rod between the rails and actually pry them into the appropriate alignment for each street car so it could pass. Just the iron bar weighed about 20 pounds.
