The following heirs were named in the will of Benjamin Menees from Records of Robertson County, Tennessee, wills, Inventories, Bonds, Etc. Volume I, 1796-1812.
February 1811, this last will and testament was presented in Court and proven in Open Court by oaths of Nehemiah Fowler, Elisha Phelps and Levi Brookshere and ordered to be recorded and Jeremiah Batts and Nimrod Browning the executors made Oath according to Law.
Wife, not named. Children: James Menees, John Menees, ELINOR SELLERS, Isaac Menees, Elizabeth Dorris, Benjamin Menees,William Dawson Menees and Maryann Menees and grandson Benjamin Williams Menees.

Benjamin Menees, Citizen of Amherst Co., Virginia, was a Revolutionary soldier. After the war he moved to Pittsylvania Co. and from there to the vicinity of Nashville (1788). Soon thereafter he settled on Sulpher Fork of Red River in what is now Robertson Co., then Tenn. County, where he built a block house in 1811.
Benjamin Menees had two sons who were active in county affairs. One son James as Sheriff and Benjamin was county surveyor.
James Menees married Rebecca Williams who died when their only child Benjamin Williams was an infant.
Benjamin Williams Menees married Elizabeth Harrison daughter of Thomas Harrison of Davidson County.
