Misc. Notes
It was / is darn confusing, but the son of Theo II was not the Richard who died in 1786 Halifax. Some short notes on the son of Theo:
[father's will in 1777 Halifax - executor with brothers John and Theo III]
These appear to be from Halifax County - and not Prince Edward - however, there are other references
to burials in Prince Edward. In any and all cases, although the dates of birth and death are very similar,
this can NOT be the husband of the Widow Frances Carter, 1776 Halifax County VA! [proposed as the
grandson of James of Stafford Carter, son of Capt. Thos. Jr. - with the tradition of Neale, Spencer and
Thompson in the names of the children].
29 December 1772 Richard CARTER and Susanna Bigger. Sur. John Bigger, Jr.
p. 76 Thomas THOMPSON and Nancy Waddill Carter, dau. of Theodrick Carter. Sur. Thomas Carter.
Carter, Susannah m David Powell Nov 11 or 17 , 1796 after Richard Carter's death
