Obituary: JAMES B. STITES James Breathitt Stites, 71, south Kansas City, died July 4, 1994, at Veterans Hospital. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Mount Moriah & Freeman Chapel. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Stites was born in North Augusta, S.C., and lived in this area most of his life. He was an electrical engineer for the American Telephone and Telegraph Co.
for 42 years, retiring in 1982. He was a Navy pilot in World War II and was a member of the Grandview Memorial post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He received a degree in electrical
engineering from Washington University, St. Louis. Survivors include his wife, Faye Stites of the home; two sons, Ronald J. Stites and Dr. Stephen W. Stites of Kansas City; a daughter, Janet E. Stites Felton, Oakland, Calif.; two stepsons, Robert Dancosse, Clinton, Mo., and Daniel Dancosse, Wichita; a stepdaughter, Donna Hoskins, Clinton; a sister, Mary Plunkett, Richmond Heights, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
