HENRY J. STITES, 27; MASTER CABINETMAKER
Henry J. Stites, a master cabinetmaker and expert in antique furniture restoration, died Thursday (Feb. 20, 1992) at Westchester House in Chesterfield of Parkinson's disease. He was 75.
Mr. Stites, a resident of Webster Groves for 44 years, was in the cabinet-making and antique-restoration business for more than 40 years. He was manager of Fortune Interiors on Big Bend Boulevard for 11 years before he retired in 1984. Before then, he was manager for 28 years of the old Warfield Shops on Euclid and Maryland avenues in the Central West End. He did restoration
work for the St. Louis Art Museum, Henry Shaw House, the First Missouri State Capitol building in St. Charles, Grant's Cabin and at various other historical sites.
During World War II, he made and worked on gliders for the armed forces.
Mr. Stites was born in Michigan and reared in Hopkinsville, Ky. He graduated from Maplewood-Richmond Heights High School and attended Washington University.

HENRY J. STITES, 75, of LAKE SAINT LOUIS
Henry Johnson Stites, 75, of Lake Saint Louis, died Thursday (Feb. 20, 1992) at Westchester House Nursing Home in Chesterfield. He was a retired furniture maker.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 29 at the Webster Groves Presbyterian Church, 45 West Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves. Disposition of the remains will be private. No visitation is scheduled.
Among survivors are his wife, Joy S. Stites; a son, Andrew Mac Farlan Skinner of Lake Saint Louis; five daughters, Suzanne Taylor of Lake Saint Louis, Sally Schroer of Tucson, Ariz.,
Sherdan Schroer of Jamestown, R.I., Julia Thompson of Boone, N.C., and Marcy Stites of Oakland, Calif.; a brother, James B. Stites of Kansas City; three sisters, Elizabeth Miller of St. Louis, Mary Plunkett of Richmond Heights and Virginia Royce of Ladue; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial contributions to the Parkinson's Foundation can be made in care of the T.E. Pitman Funeral Home, 909 Pitman Avenue, Wentzville.
