Jon Ashton’s Christmas Cookies
Oven 375° 6 to 8 min
|CHRISTMAS SUGAR COOKIES|
|2||C||Shortening||>||Mix really well (creaming)|
|3||Eggs||>||Add and beat till light & fluffy.|
|6||C||All Purpose Flour||>||Sift together then blend in.|
|4 ½||t||Baking Powder|
|Divide dough into 6 parts - chill at least 1 hour (3 hours is best).|
Roll out in. thick on lightly floured surface and cut with Cookie Cutters.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 6-8 mins.
|Hint: Excess flour and/or rolling will toughen cookies. Chilled dough absorbs less flour. Roll on lightly floured surface. If you own them, use a pastry cloth and stockinette cover for rolling pin.|
